TowerCAD - Overview

TowerCAD is a user friendly software product to assist in and to automate the design of steel lattice towers, of all kinds. It is a specialized package for Profiling, Analysis, Design and Report generation regarding towers. It provides precise and error free designs in an amazingly short span of time. Recycling ensures correct results unlike other packages, where recycling is unavailable. A tower design can be completed in 30 minutes time including data definition.

Automatic Fixing of Tower Profiles conforming various standards, electrical clearance requirements for all tower types, circuits and different KV.  

Facilities for customization and selection of Equal angle, unequal angle, tubes, starred angle, back to back angle, four angle stars for Section for angle databases, conforming to any standard.    

Towers of different heights can be truncated from a single tower, so that one Fabrication plan caters to all the truncations particularly in microwave tower projects. 

Body extensions can be defined and BOQs are generated separately. 

Differential legs can be designed to suit hilly/sloping  terrains. 

Design criteria like limiting L/r ratio, minimum thickness of the member, grade of steel, type of sections (angle, star, double star, channel, pipe etc.), number of bolts, diameters of bolts, etc., and type of steel for each class of  members such as legs, bracings, redundants, cross-arms etc., can be chosen by the user. 

Pattern for redundants and Main members provide hundreds of  Library patterns to choose from. 

Panel - wise wind forces are  calculated considering gust response, solidity ratio, drag coefficient  etc.

Redundant elements are also designed automatically, with an option of selecting percentage force of the members it connects and/or bending criteria and minimum l/r ratio.  

The Buckling criteria for different types of members based on curve numbers defined in IS: 802 are designed.

Database is generated for each Tower data, and can be used later as input for optimization. User can see the results, data, loads, input etc. while the program is being executed.

Various reports such as Design reports, Bill of materials, Wind loads on the panels, Support loads, Antennae loads, can be generated and viewed instantly.

Print option enables the users to print drawings and profiles of the  towers.

  Interactive and Intuitive Interface 

Interactive and Intuitive Interface enables the user to specify the required quantities for the designing process.

Easy & Fast Designing towers using TowerCAD is very easy. All you need to do is to specify bottom and top widths and number of panels and select the type of panel. The tower design is generated.
Visual Model Generation  Visual model of the tower is generated showing node numbers, element numbers etc., so that user  can examine, edit if necessary, the model before he designs it.
Various Views

Views from different directions, Pan, zoom and rotation of  the tower, Back & fore color,  line thickness options. Views along any plane can be generated.

Saving Options

The user can save the file and open it again and can run the Program. He can add the file to the Project data base.

Editing Data

The user can edit Partially/fully entered data to make changes to optimize the tower design
