D-Wall Diaphragm Wall

Diaphragm Wall are structural elements, which are constructed underground. They are need to form vertical shields with minimal thickness in comparison with their length. They have been used for decades covering numerous civil applications. Depending on their purpose and the used material, diaphragm walls ca be divided into reinforced concrete walls with the casing function or construction and cut-off walls, which can be filled with any sealing compound.

Concrete diaphragm walls are particularly suited for deep excavations in congested urban areas where conventional retaining wall techniques might cause unacceptable vibration or adjacent ground movement. Where ground water is present, their low-permeability characteristic allows them to also serve as a water cut-off.

     Uses of Diaphragm:

Underground structure wall.
Sewage treatment plant, filtration plant and water supply pump plant.
Dam cut-off wall and underground dam.
Cut-off wall for wastewater of garbage reclamation.
Subway, underpass and flyer.
Underground tank
Underground electrical transformer substation.

   Benefits of Diaphragm:

Can be installed through virtually all soil conditions.
Can be formed to substantial thickness
The system is flexible in plan layout.
Can easily be incorporated into the permanent works.
Rigid ground support with minimum bracing / tie backs.
Noise levels limited to engine noise only.
No vibration during installation.
Basement construction time can be reduced.
It is an excellent method for DAM Foundation and Earthquake and Vibration Resisting Wall.
