Portland is the name of  a place in U.K. where cement was discovered. Hence the name Portland Cement. This type of  cement is most widely manufactured. It contains 4% of gypsum as additive. There are  three grades of  this cement  33 grade, 43 grade, 53 grade.  These are used for special grade high strength structural concrete.
